About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Flight Controls Intern to support the development, testing, and optimization of autonomous fixed-wing aircraft. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with PX4 autopilot, fixed-wing flight dynamics, and UAV control systems.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Develop and tune flight control algorithms for fixed-wing UAVs
✅ Configure, integrate, and test PX4 autopilot systems
✅ Support SITL and HIL testing using Gazebo and PX4
✅ Analyze flight logs and telemetry data
✅ Validate Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) functions
✅ Participate in flight testing and system integration activities
✅ Collaborate with software, avionics, and mechanical teams
✅ Document test procedures and engineering findings

Required Qualifications

✔ Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
✔ Understanding of fixed-wing flight dynamics and control systems
✔ Experience with PX4 autopilot architecture and configuration
✔ Familiarity with MAVLink, QGroundControl, and UAV communication systems
✔ Proficiency in Python and/or C++
✔ Knowledge of PID control, state estimation, and feedback systems
✔ Experience working in Linux environments

Preferred Qualifications

⭐ Experience with Gazebo, ROS/ROS2, or robotics middleware
⭐ Familiarity with EKF-based state estimation and sensor fusion
⭐ Knowledge of mission planning and autonomous navigation
⭐ Experience with avionics, embedded systems, or hardware integration
⭐ Participation in UAV competitions, drone development teams, or research projects
