Operations Research Intern
We're hiring an Operations Research Intern at DecisionOpt.
If you've recently graduated (2026) with a masters degree in Operations Research and enjoy solving analytical problems, working with optimization models, and writing Python code, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be working on:
* Developing optimization models for real business problems
* Building solutions using Python and OR techniques
* Analysing data and translating business requirements into mathematical models
* Supporting product and client projects wherever required
Who should apply?
* Recent graduates from Operations Research Masters degree programmes
* A good understanding of Mathematical Modelling fundamentals
* Comfortable with Python
* Familiarity with optimization solvers such as Gurobi, CPLEX, or OR-Tools is a plus, but not mandatory
This is a great opportunity to work on challenging optimization problems in logistics, supply chain, and related domains while learning from an experienced team.

Interview advice
Going for the Operations role at DecisionOpt? A few things that help freshers walk in prepared:
- Have one example ready where you brought order to chaos — a process you organised or a bottleneck you fixed, with the result.
- Re-read the job description and prepare two projects or coursework examples that map directly to what it asks for.
- Rehearse "tell me about yourself" out loud in about 60 seconds — education, one standout achievement, why this role — instead of reciting your CV top to bottom.
- Put numbers on your achievements: "8.5/10 GPA", "cut load time by 40%", "led a team of four" lands far better than "good grades" or "hard-working".
- For a virtual interview, test your internet, camera and mic in advance, sit somewhere quiet and well-lit, and still dress formally — it signals you are serious.
