Robotics & Computer Vision Intern
Robotics / Computer Vision Internship (UAV Systems)
We are looking for a Robotics & Computer Vision Intern to contribute to the development of our Visual-Inertial SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) system for autonomous UAVs.
Location: Jaipur
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and improve Visual-Inertial Odometry (VIO) pipelines by integrating camera and IMU data using Extended Kalman Filters (EKF) and sensor fusion techniques.
Design, implement, and optimize computer vision algorithms for feature detection, tracking, pose estimation, landmark triangulation, and 3D reconstruction.
Improve SLAM components including keyframe selection, loop closure detection, pose graph optimization, and map consistency.
Evaluate localization and mapping performance using simulated and real-world datasets in AirSim, ArduPilot, or equivalent environments.
Investigate and resolve issues such as scale drift, yaw drift, tracking failures, and numerical instability in autonomous navigation pipelines.
Optimize perception algorithms for real-time performance using GPU acceleration frameworks such as CUDA, CuPy, or PyTorch where applicable.
Document algorithms, experiments, evaluation metrics, and implementation details to support collaborative development and future improvements.
Required Qualifications:
Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's/Master's degree
Strong programming skills in Python.
Solid understanding of Linear Algebra, 3D Geometry, coordinate transformations, and rotations.
Familiarity with Computer Vision concepts including feature detection, feature tracking, camera geometry, and pose estimation using OpenCV.
Basic understanding of estimation techniques such as Kalman Filter or Extended Kalman Filter.
Preferred
Experience with Visual SLAM, Visual-Inertial Odometry (VIO), Structure-from-Motion (SfM), or robotics perception.
Familiarity with ROS/ROS 2, AirSim, Gazebo, PX4, or ArduPilot.
Experience with Open3D, CUDA, CuPy, PyTorch, or GPU programming.
Understanding of bundle adjustment, pose graph optimization, multi-view geometry, or sensor fusion.
Familiarity with Git and collaborative software development workflows.
What We Look For
A curious and persistent engineer who enjoys solving challenging robotics problems, takes ownership of technical work, and is comfortable debugging complex systems. We value strong fundamentals, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in autonomous drones, computer vision, and real-world robotic systems over prior SLAM experience alone.
