Yourroleandresponsibilities

• The Hybrid Observability&Managementcharterincludesboth Unified Stream Manager(USM)and Confluent Control Center(C 3), withasharedgoalofdeliveringaconsistent, enterprise-grademanagement, observability, andsecurityexperienceacrosson-prem, cloud, andhybrid Confluent Platformdeployments.

• As a Softw are Engineeronthisteam, youwillworkonwell-defined, scopedpieces of USMor C 3, withguidanceandmentorshipfromseniorengineers, whilelearningthefundamentalsofbuildingandoperatingplatformsoftwareatscale.

• On the USMside, thatmeanscontributingtohybrid-firstmanagementandoperationalcapabilities; on the C 3 side, itmeanshelpingimproveclusterhealth, topicandconsumermonitoring, connectorvisibility, andmanagementworkflows.

• Thisroleisastrongfitforanengineerearlyintheircareerwhowantstobuilddepthindistributedsystemsandplatformengineering.

• You'llworkcloselywithexperiencedengineerstodeliverreliable, well-testedsoftware, andgrowintoowningaspecificsub-component of USMor C 3 asyoubuildexpertise.

• -Deliverwell-scopedtasksandfeaturesontime, withcodereviewandmentorshipfromseniorengineers.

• -Contribute to USMcapabilities(Agent, Cloud Console)or C 3 workflows(clusterhealth, topicvisibility, consumermonitoring, connectorstatus)dependingonteamroadmapneeds.

• -Writedesignone-pagersforyourownsub-tasksandincorporatefeedbackfromstakeholdersandpeers.

• -Learn Confluent'sengineeringpractices: codingstandards, Dev Prodtooling, releaseprocess, anddesignreviewprocess.

• -Writetests, fixbugs, andparticipateincodereviewstobuildahabitofqualityandcraftsmanship.

• -Helptroubleshootproductionandcustomer-facingissuesbyanalyzinglogsandmetrics, withsupportfromseniorteammates.

• -Participateinon-callrotationwithmentorship, learningtodebugandmitigateissuesunderguidance.

• -Takeownershipofaspecificsub-component of USMor C 3 andgrowintothego-topersonforit.

• -Abilitytowriteclean, maintainable, well-testedcodeinatleastonemodernlanguage(Java, Go, orsimilar)

• -Curiosityaboutdistributedsystemsandhowlarge-scaleserviceslike Kafkaaredesignedandoperated.

• -Aself-startermindsetcomfortableaskingquestions, seekingfeedback, anditeratingbasedoncodereview.

• -Strongcommunicationskillsandwillingnesstocollaboratecloselywithasmallteam.

• -BSin Computer Science, Engineering, orequivalentpracticalexperience
